Saturday morning, we headed out bright and early to Linder Farms for a little bit of fall fun on a farm. Daniel and the kids had been working on saying "pumpkin patch" all morning long--needless to say, Addison and Jackson were pretty excited.
Good thing there were lots of big hay bales for climbing--and a serious tube slide right at the entrance. (Side note: I let Jackson go down this slide later into our adventure, and he did it like such a big boy! The landing wasn't very forgiving--hence Daniel declaring that there was no way Jackson should have been allowed to go down the slide--so even though we had to wipe away a few tears after the crash landing, he went down like a champ!)
There was a great little straw bale maze for the kids--Jackson took off running through it like a maniac! Addison was more interested in climbing up and over the bales.
Next, we loaded up on a wagon for a hay ride out to the pumpkin patches.
Just a couple of kids in a pumpkin barrow...
They had a great little petting zoo. It was surprisingly full of both kids and animals, which made it a little bit hectic--but Addison and Jackson loved it. They are really into animals these days--in total, we pet a dog, a cat, a chicken, a bunny, a duck, a few lambs, goats, mules, and pigs. And we didn't have any fingers nibbled (be careful feeding the mule!), no bites (I'm watching you, goat), no kicks, no ears or tails pulled--so success!
You wouldn't believe how much fun these kids had in a bin of corn. So. Much. Fun. (also a few action shots of Addison doing the opposite of what mom said: "don't throw the corn...")
We had such a good time at Linder Farms--hooray for crisp mornings, pumpkin patches, farm animals, and fall!
