So Fashionable...

Daniel took pictures of the kids checking themselves out in the mirror (which they love to do these days--after we're done combing hair in the morning, Addison always asks: "I look in mirror?"). The pictures really speak for themselves...these kids are so full of personality!

Haircut for Jackson

Jackson's hair grows fast, and it's hard not to love those sweet curls he gets. But, Jackson was in pretty serious need of a haircut, so this weekend, he finally got one. Here's he is before and after--he looks like such a big boy with short hair (and so handsome)!

Happy Halloweena!

The kids have been super excited for Halloween (or Halloweena, as they say) this year--every time we get in the car, all I hear about are the BIG PUMPKINS, big kitty cats, ghosts, and spiderwebs that adorn houses throughout our neighborhood. Jackson especially loves the big pumpkins, and has this really cute breathy voice he uses when he says big pumpkins.

Unfortunately, Addison has been sick since Sunday (though her fever broke yesterday), and Jackson developed a fever earlier this afternoon--both of them rallied and had fun trick or treating, and even more fun handing out Halloween candy. Addison was very generous--she'd load her arms full of candy and wait for kids to come to our door so she could dump it all into one lucky kid's bag.

This year, Jackson was a cowboy, complete with boots, a vest, and a horse--and Addison was a butterfly princess, donning wings and a pretty pink tutu (thanks to Grandma Kaye for her sewing and crafting handiwork putting their costumes together!). They are so cute, and growing up so fast! We took a few pictures before they left for school, a few at home before we went trick or treating, then a couple when we were out in the neighborhood.

At the Park

Yesterday, we were in Sun Valley (I had a meeting, so we all decided to go for the night)--and it snowed! Addison and Jackson were mesmerized--they loved it! Because it was such a long Friday and Saturday, we took it easy on Sunday and went to the park. We are lucky to have parks to choose from in our neighborhood--all of them have slides, but only one of them has swings. And that's where we went.

Good luck...

Trying to get two toddlers and one adult all looking at the camera and smiling at the same time.

Fun at Linder Farms

Saturday morning, we headed out bright and early to Linder Farms for a little bit of fall fun on a farm. Daniel and the kids had been working on saying "pumpkin patch" all morning long--needless to say, Addison and Jackson were pretty excited.

Good thing there were lots of big hay bales for climbing--and a serious tube slide right at the entrance. (Side note: I let Jackson go down this slide later into our adventure, and he did it like such a big boy! The landing wasn't very forgiving--hence Daniel declaring that there was no way Jackson should have been allowed to go down the slide--so even though we had to wipe away a few tears after the crash landing, he went down like a champ!)

There was a great little straw bale maze for the kids--Jackson took off running through it like a maniac! Addison was more interested in climbing up and over the bales.

Next, we loaded up on a wagon for a hay ride out to the pumpkin patches.

Just a couple of kids in a pumpkin barrow...

They had a great little petting zoo. It was surprisingly full of both kids and animals, which made it a little bit hectic--but Addison and Jackson loved it. They are really into animals these days--in total, we pet a dog, a cat, a chicken, a bunny, a duck, a few lambs, goats, mules, and pigs. And we didn't have any fingers nibbled (be careful feeding the mule!), no bites (I'm watching you, goat), no kicks, no ears or tails pulled--so success!

You wouldn't believe how much fun these kids had in a bin of corn. So. Much. Fun. (also a few action shots of Addison doing the opposite of what mom said: "don't throw the corn...")

We had such a good time at Linder Farms--hooray for crisp mornings, pumpkin patches, farm animals, and fall!
