A weekend visit from Grandma Julie

Grandma Julie came to visit this past weekend--the babies loved all of the attention and having Grandma Julie to play with and get cuddles from. We spent a lot of time playing with the babies while she was here--we also did some shopping, went out to eat, watched Daniel play hockey, and did a lot more playing and cuddling with the babies.

It was so nice outside Sunday afternoon, we went out in our courtyard to blow some bubbles and take come pictures. Here is Jackson with Grandma Julie:

Crazy hair!

Tonight during bath time, we had some crazy hair...silly babies!

Addison made a fish face today for the first time--so adorable! I'll have the camera handy over the next few days to try to catch her in the act...

Stats Update

We had our 9-month well-baby check-up today, and the babies are doing great! They are growing like weeds--Jackson is 28 inches tall, and his sister is slightly taller at 28 and a half inches. Addison weighs 18 pounds, and Jackson weighs 19 lb, 2 oz (although I SWEAR they weigh more!). The babies liked the fish tank at the doc's office, and officially prefer crawling and standing by themselves to being held--which is going to make flying with them very interesting, indeed...

Happy Father's Day

Today, Daniel celebrated his first Father's Day.

Daniel is such a great dad. Most dads get a pass some of the time--but it takes both of us to play, soothe, bathe, feed, change, dress, and put to bed two babies. It's been hard work, but Daniel has been great pitching in and helping with the babies--and from the smiles on their faces and the way they light up when he walks in the room, you know Addison and Jackson love their dad so much!

In other Father's Day news, Jackson had a huge catch up weekend. He decided he would crawl, pull himself up, and stand up all this weekend. Then, to further celebrate Father's Day, after going out to eat at a Mongolian BBQ restaurant and pooping all over Daniel on our way to the car--the babies decided to climb up the stairs. Good grief, keeping up with these two is getting more and more tricky!

Lazy Saturday

Work made last week terrible. It was our Washington Conference--the result was long, stress-filled days, early mornings, late nights--it was no good. I missed the babies and the babies missed their mama. So, it was especially nice to have a lazy Saturday morning spent in bed. Here are some cute pics of the babies while we lounged. I love that we have such happy, fun babies in the morning--I love waking up with these guys!

Adventures in the Pool!

Yesterday, the babies had their first trip to the swimming pool! Last week was SO HOT--this weekend was warm, but not so miserable as it had been. It was absolutely perfect for a swimming day! Olivia has a pool, and was so nice to invite us all down to join her for a picnic lunch and a day of swimming. As suspected, the babies loved the water. There was lots of kicking, splashing, and playing--I have a feeling we're going to have lots of fun in the pool this summer!




Here is one of Addison's famous waves--she waves like a crazy woman these days, at me, at Daniel, at Spud, at Jackson, at the lamp, at her reflection, at everything!





PS we need to get these guys a few swimming lessons, so mom and dad know how to help them navigate and feel totally comfortable in the pool...we also need to get some sunglasses and hats, it was awfully bright for those babies!
