Playing Outside

The Satterlees have a beautiful yard, and the babies took full advantage of it. We love playing outside, and the weather was nice--it made for lots of outdoor fun while we were in California!
Addison tried repeatedly to kiss the dogs--she wasn't pleased when we stopped her.
And of course, the babies loved splashing in the water!

The Ocean!

While we were in California, the babies had their walk on the beach and splash in the ocean. Nana Candy, Daniel and I took the babies to La Jolla Shores for their first encounter with the Pacific!

The babies' first time walking on sand.

Yikes, who's that guy?!--but cute baby!

Addison and Jackson's first time touching the ocean--they loved it!

Addison's new thing--she bends over into downward dog and peeks through her legs upside down. Rather hilarious, totally adorable.

Our family at the beach!

We love high chairs!

And we love the high chairs that Nana Candy had for the babies (in fact, we're probably going to replace the two we have with some similar to those). Here are the babies, enjoying the chairs at snack time!

Swimming in San Diego

Everyday that we were in California, we went swimming. The babies had a blast splashing and playing in the water--it was so nice to have the pool right there! We keep saying "some day..."--some day we'll have a yard to play in, some day we'll have access to a pool, some day!!

There are waterfalls that feed into the pool--the babies loved to stand up on the waterfalls nad feel the water splash against their legs.

I need to work on not opening my mouth when I smile with the babies...

Jackson gives the best kisses!

Our Almost First Birthday Party!

Today, Grandma Julie hosted an almost first birthday party for the babies--it was so much fun to be able to celebrate with everyone! The babies got to meet all of Grandma Julie's friends and neighbors--and they were spoiled rotten with lots of gifts. The most amazing gift is one that Grandma Julie and Aunt Lauren have been working on since before the babies arrived--a hand-painted wooden ark, complete with Noah (and his wife) and two of just about every animal you could think of. It was adorable, and so thoughtful, and took so much time and creativity--the babies are going to cherish it! The party also included delicious food and an adorable cake (which was also delicious) adorned with frosting animals--it was perfect.

Thank you for the party, Grandma Julie!

One funny thing from the party--Julie's neighbor brought her 3 year old son Aiden, and Addison could not get enough of that boy. She chased after him, trying to get a hold of him to give him hugs and kisses. She was a bit boy crazy--isn't it early for that?!

Heading to California

Boy, last night a late night, especially for the babies! This morning, we have to hurry and pack and get ready to hop on an airplane to head to California--but first, we need to play in this basket (in the courtyard of our hotel, in the wet grass, on a cool, crisp morning--we love it!)!
